Police are in the process of investigating a crash that left a California man fighting for his life. This bicycle accident occurred on Oct. 26, in the San Diego area. Given the nature of the victim’s injuries, doctors are hopeful he’ll make a full recovery, but it is just too soon to tell at this point.
The victim is a 43-year-old male who often spends time cycling with his friends. He was almost back to his residence after going out for an evening ride when he was struck by a passing car. He was promptly transported to an area hospital for treatment. According to the latest report, he suffered a severe brain bleed and swelling, along with facial fractures. Medical providers have kept him in a coma to give his body time to heal.
Who did this?
Honestly, right now, law enforcement investigators do not know. There is no video of the event, and no witnesses have come forward. No arrests have been made, but it is only a matter of time.
Until the responsible party is identified and located, the victim will have to depend on his insurance to cover his losses. As simple as that sounds, he — or his loved ones — may find it difficult to get all of his expenses covered. Legal counsel may be able to help with that by negotiating with his insurance provider. An experienced personal injury attorney can also help him seek further relief after the responsible party is located by filing civil claims against that individual.
